Welcome to the twelfth entry in my song-inspired poem series! This one definitely veers right into sci-fi (or at least space-related) territory, and was inspired by ‘Attack of the Planet Smashers’ by The Planet Smashers, which I’ve embedded below for you to listen to. I hope you enjoy reading this week’s poem!

To Witness, To Behold
Something new, today! This is a poem that was directly inspired by a song, intentionally – I had the vague idea a little while ago for a collection of poems inspired by songs chosen by my partner, who is much more musically minded and knowledgeable than myself, and this is the first, inspired by ‘Sowing The Seeds Of Love’ by Tears For Fears.
Take Me With You
For this week’s post, I’ve decided to highlight a poem which was available in Issue Five of Ouch! Magazine, but is unfortunately no longer available. It’s got some pretty cool space vibes and I’m pretty happy with it, so I hope you enjoy it! Look out for some more news about my next novel release, The Demon Of Darkenhall Lane, next week!
Take Me With You
This poem appeared in OUCH! Mag’s fifth issue, Galaxy, and it definitely fits within that starry theme. But it’s not just about space and aliens, although those elements are definitely within it. I tried to create a deeper story behind the simple want to live among the stars with strange beings from other planets, and I hope that comes across in my writing. Rather than just hope and curiosity, some more negative emotions lurk beneath the stanzas, but I think they all contribute to the overall image: not wanting to be left on Earth when you could be taken anywhere else in the galaxy.
