This week’s poem didn’t end up quite going in the direction that I thought it would, but nevertheless, I quite enjoyed writing this one. It veered straight into the world of dreams, daydreams and nightmares, and was inspired by ‘My Own Worst Enemy’ by Lit – as with all of the other poems in this series, the song is embedded below if you’d like to listen to it, and you can check out the first and previous poems in this series with the links below!

Paper Memories
As you might be able to guess from the title, this week’s poem is quite centred around the theme of memories, and more specifically those memories that we keep through actually writing things down–and the state that those memories might end up in after some time has passed. It was inspired by ‘Mess’ by Real Friends and is the ninth entry into this song-inspired poems series that I’m doing, and the links for both the first poem in this series and the previous one (coincidentally both inspired by Tears For Fears songs!) are below. I hope you enjoy this poem!
This Is For You
This week’s entry into my song-inspired poem series was inspired by another Tears For Fears song (just like the very first poem in this series, which there is a link to below!): ‘Head Over Heels’. Definitely a completely different mood than last week’s poem, but I hope you enjoy this one!
Retribution By Moonlight
This week I’ve got another song-inspired poem for you to continue the series, and this one was written with ‘She-Wolf’ by Megadeth in mind. I think it’s a nice mix of a bit of fantasy like last week and the more supernatural side of my writing (similar to Twisted Bloodlines), so I hope you enjoy this one!
Where The Gods And Rats Watch
Interestingly, this week’s poem had me thinking back to the fantasy poems I was writing for the blog a little bit ago, because I got into that similar sort of fantasy headspace for this one, which was inspired by ‘115’ by Elena Siegman and Kevin Sherwood (from the Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies soundtrack). As with the other poems, I’ve embedded the song below so you can listen while you read if you’d like to, and I hope you enjoy this one!
Teenage Odyssey
This week, I’ve got another entry in my song-inspired series of poems! This one was inspired by ‘Wind Me Up’ by Extreme, which I’ve included below so you can have a listen while you read, if you like!
My 2024 In Review – Poetry, Fiction & More!
Happy New Year! It’s a fun coincidence that New Year’s Day this year happened to be on a Wednesday, so I decided I’d shake things up a little bit with a post that explores what I’ve done throughout this past year.
Look At A Book: The Horse Who Fell In Scorland
As it’s release day for The Horse Who Fell In Scorland, it seems only appropriate for me to return to my ‘Look At A Book’ posts for this new arrival! If you missed it last week, here’s the link to my post with the first chapter of the book, which you can read for free. You can also read the entire eBook for free on Smashwords or buy the paperback on Amazon.
The Horse Who Fell In Scorland – Chapter One
I have to say, it’s a bit of a strange feeling not releasing another Chained Soul chapter – that novel has dominated the blog since November 2023, but I’ve got another bit of fiction you might be interested in today. My fantasy novella The Horse Who Fell In Scorland is releasing next Wednesday, on the 10th of July, so I thought I’d treat you to a little sneak peek of the book with this first chapter!
Chained Soul – Part Twenty-Four
Welcome back to Chained Soul, my new serialised novel that I’m releasing right here on my blog, as well as on Tapas and Wattpad. Quick warning: this series does contain strong language, so if that’s not your thing, you’re free to skip this one!
