Oskar Leonard is a trans author, poet and illustrator from the UK, as well as a beta-reader and proofreader through Fiverr. He has written fifteen books: six novels, five poetry collections, three novellas and a short story collection. He has achieved a First Class Honours BA in English Literature with Creative Writing from Edge Hill University.

A Cicerone’s Poem

With the release of my upcoming dark fantasy novella, Cicerone, on the horizon, I thought I’d share a poem that fell in and out of the manuscript ever since its beginnings in 2018. I’ve been considering whether to use this particular piece in the novella or not, and how I would use it, for so long that it almost feels wrong to cast it aside, but I think it works much better as additional content rather than something contained within the pages of the novella. Cicerone Extract

So… hey! It’s been a while. Not going to lie, I’ve been super busy with my work, university and also writing for various projects, so I’m just happy to be able to have the time to sit down and write this blog post for you. It’s going to be a fun little excerpt from my upcoming fantasy novella, Cicerone–a little darkness, a little mystery and a whole lot of fun (or is fun the wrong word? Haha). You can expect this release to come within this month, so stay tuned for more news! For now, I hope you enjoy this little snippet.

Love Between Fire And Ice

I have another poem from that upcoming project that I’ve mentioned before in one of these blog posts for you today. It’s a rather long one, by my current standards for the poems I’ve been writing recently, but the concept intrigued me on a walk home recently and it’s been burning – unintentional pun – away in my head for a while, so here’s the poem.

For Someone

This is actually a poem that I worked on in one of my university workshops, so I’ve edited it more than I usually would and received some interesting feedback on it. I know that university has really put a stop to a lot of my plans for my writing and books, but this poem might be part of a project that I hope will signify me getting back to my ‘author feet’, in a way. In any case, I hope that you enjoy it today!

Not going to lie, I have very much combined a writing task from the Creative Writing side of my degree with this week’s post, but I’m hoping that you’ll enjoy it! My Friends

Today, I decided to show you a poem about the stars – or, rather, the lack of stars that I noticed one morning when I was walking to the bus stop. Seeing the stars and the moon in the early morning is one of the best parts of my day, especially when I have to wake up so early, so seeing a sky without them is quite saddening to me. Therefore, a poem was born – although the stars have since returned to the sky, you’ll be happy to hear!
