Yup, this website has a blog too—I’m really pulling out all the stops. So, if you haven’t found the About page yet, I’m Oskar Leonard, teenage author and poet (and amateur illustrator). I really want to get my work out there and find new readers and friends, so here I am!
This blog will mainly contain excerpts of my writing, either poetry (which can usually be found on my AllPoetry page as well) or prose, which will likely range from short stories/flash fiction to teasers from my WIPs.
Speaking of those, what am I writing right now? The Demon Of Darkenhall Lane is my current WIP novel, a fantasy of manners LGBT+ romance taking place in the fictional city of Marlier, ruled over by Reapers and inhabited by Demons, Souled and Soulless. It tells the tale of a Souled secretary who falls in love with his Demon employer during a dangerous investigation into corruption in the soul system—pretty cool, right?
My other project is Our Paused World, a collection of poems from my time in lockdown. While all the poems have been completed, I’m still working on the illustrations. They may not be absolutely groundbreaking, but they reflect the more personal angle of this poetry book, and build off of the sinking feeling I got whenever people asked me if the photographs in my last poetry book had been taken by me (spoiler alert, they weren’t, but they were provided by the royalty-free image service Pexels). So, that’s me. Just a regular writing teenager trying to navigate this crazy world, and show off some of my work while I’m at it. Feel free to stick around, learn about me and what I’ve done and get in touch if you have any questions, comments or anything you want to get off your chest.
